I've been knitting, sewing and trying to create my own dress patterns. I've just created a <a href="http://www.spoonflower.com/welcome" target="_blank">Spoonflower</a> account where you can create your own designs for fabrics, wallpapers and wall decals. I was browsing through the numerous designs available to purchase and thought, why not create my own? So I did!<br />
I created an adorable fun fox print design which will be repeated across the fabric. You can view my design by clicking <a href="http://www.spoonflower.com/designs/1668814" target="_blank">here</a><br />

I was busy creating ferret bedding and sweet treats for a local Christmas Fayre and ferret show that took place a week or so ago (My little girl won best in show btw) I sold a few of my creations but I did have a few yummy cakes left to eat afterwards! </div>

I've been making quite a few presents this year, and I'm now rushing to get them done on time! I've knitted a hat for my dad (he needs a hat in this weather!) I'm also embroidering a cardi for mum and I'm hand sewing a quilted blanket for them too. </div>

Check out the pumpkins done by my husband and I, mine is the spooky tree and the creepy face is my other half's handiwork.<br />

Tonight I did a practice run of a 'scary' ghost type look after deciding at the last minute that I wanted to dress up for the trick or treaters! So I raided my make-up bag (and my larder for the red food colouring) and here are the results....<br />

I was supposed to go to a 40's weekend with my other half back in September (but due to work I couldn't go in the end) hence why I originally looked into 40's hairstyles and make-up.<br />
The 40's make-up look was very similar to my every day look, I was just missing the red lipstick. However, I've stopped wearing eyeliner altogether at the moment and have started wearing my Lush lip tint 'it started with a kiss' every day. Since I had vintage inspired makeup, I felt that my hair was sadly lacking (what's new?) so one morning I played around with some styles and was fairly pleased with the result, which you can see below...<br />
Please note that there is an alarming amount of flyaways and general yuck going on as I currently do not own a single can of hairspray and didn't use any other products! The top picture was taken after I'd been out to get some material for a quilt which is why it looks even more windswept!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/47911_10151182874572487_647794296_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/47911_10151182874572487_647794296_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/530261_10151182808012487_1812051988_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/530261_10151182808012487_1812051988_n.jpg" width="296" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's not the best that has ever been done but it was my first attempt at something like this and I never use grips so this was quite challenging! Realised just how pale I look in the bottom picture, and I can promise you I'm not a vampire! Honest! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What I did was I split my hair into two sections at the back (you might be able to get away with just one section if you have shorter/finer hair than me) and armed myself with lots of bobby pins. You take one section and twist it slightly at the end before rolling upwards towards the head, keeping it low to the neck. This can be tricky but teasing the hair that will form the innermost part of the roll will help it roll up easier. Holding it in place you then need to slide your pins through either side of the 'sausage' shape until you are satisfied it is secure. Any stray hairs can be tucked in and pinned into place. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You then need to do the same with the other section so that they meet in the middle and look like one long roll.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Previously I had separated my fringe from the rest of my hair, back-combed the top of it then twisted it up into a small slanted quiff pinned to one side. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally give it a spritz with hairspray (I really should buy some) and finish with a flower if you like or a vintage slide. This took me about 5 minutes to complete-I'm not a fan of time consuming hair routines!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You can't see it in the photos but my hair is also a brilliant reddish copper colour :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

During my time there (about two months) I've worked with a range of animals including big cats, zebra, giraffes and birds. I'm going to talk about my favourite animals that I've encountered as the weeks go by, including the maned wolves who I absolutely love! This post as you can probably tell by the title is about red ruffed lemurs, who I get to work quite closely with. The information in these posts is purely facts gleaned from my time at the zoo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/296495_10150364146892487_782627831_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/296495_10150364146892487_782627831_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/263977_10151161756137487_1776402331_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="296" src="http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/263977_10151161756137487_1776402331_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">They love sunning themselves while posing!<br /><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Red ruffed lemurs are much larger than the more commonly known ring tailed lemurs, more or less twice the size. They originate from northern Madagascar whereas the ring tailed lemurs come from southern Madagascar, this and the fact that most Lemur species don't mix explains why the red ruffs often see the ring tails off in our mixed enclosure! They are endangered in the wild.<div>
Red ruffed lemurs have thick fur that is a beautiful russet colour along the back which can appear bleached in some individuals as in the second picture above. This is actually very useful as it helps to distinguish one lemur from the next! As you can see from the pictures they have black fur on their tails and undersides. The skin of their feet and snouts looks like the finest quality softest leather you can imagine. Some also have markings such as a white ring around the base of the tail.</div>
<div>
Their long tails are simply for balance, and are not prehensile as most people presume. Some individuals have extremely large canines, though most have fangs no larger than would be expected and can normally just be seen protruding from the top lip. Despite their ferocious looking teeth they primarily eat fruit and foliage, bamboo being a favourite and grapes are a special treat.</div>
<div>
They can be expected to live for around 20-25 years in captivity, as opposed to only 15-20 years in the wild.</div>
<div>
They can have litters of between 1-4 young, twins are quite common although we have triplets at the zoo who are now 7 years old.</div>
<div>
Red ruffed lemurs are probably the noisiest lemurs! People are often scared witless when they make their warning/alarm call and remark that they thought it was a recording! Visitors often mistakenly think that they're having a fight but as I said it's a sort of warning call, started by one lemur to notify the others of a threat and it is passed along until they're all screeching together!</div>
<div>
I've also witnessed them making a sort of chucking noise whilst grooming each other and I'm guessing that this is a kind of lemur chatter for showing affection or possibly mild irritation if one of them didn't want to be groomed.<br />Their back feet are specially adapted for life amongst the tress and look rather like our hands would if we stuck our fingers together and the used them as one digit along with our thumb. This means that they can not only grip the branches with their hands but with their feet too! Not only do they have excellent feet for gripping and a long tail for balance but they can also leap like nobody's business! Seeing them chase off the ring tails is an great way to really begin to appreciate just how skilled they are. They can change direction and leap several feet in the air in the blink of an eye with no hesitation whatsoever, always landing on target whether it be a fence post or platform!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is about all the info I have on them so far, I'll be sure to add more as I learn and I'll be writing about my other favourite animals too!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

There will be 6 winners comprising of one overall winner who will win £1000 to spend on their outfits plus an ipad 3 and five winners who will win £200 to spend on their winning outfit. For more info on how you can enter check out their competition page <a href="http://www.moneysupermarket.com/home-insurance/passion-for-fashion/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
Here are my outfits! Hope you like them...<br />
<br />
<u>Outdoor.</u><br />
<u><br /></u>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1Fkg0nbAC-4-GxvPBMVnpygq4no-U3ajWoznVI7iEvM74ihDHOJjZeCvGN32d5uXQFtsGCImwVVFD67Il9YcLLqAflpmJnlnZo6y1sTTAami96TWPtqVigltgKxpCzb6yZFeLDH-bnc8/s1600/outdoor+look+jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="481" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1Fkg0nbAC-4-GxvPBMVnpygq4no-U3ajWoznVI7iEvM74ihDHOJjZeCvGN32d5uXQFtsGCImwVVFD67Il9YcLLqAflpmJnlnZo6y1sTTAami96TWPtqVigltgKxpCzb6yZFeLDH-bnc8/s640/outdoor+look+jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My outdoor look screams English countryside and is an outfit I'm dying to buy! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Paisley print leggings are a fresh twist on the Aztec prints we were seeing so much of at the beginning of the year and will take you through autumn and winter and then no doubt will be pulled out of the wardrobe the following year too! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The boots are great value and again are in a style that is fashionable year in year out. The low heel is perfect for stomping around outdoors and won't soak up water like uggs! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I absolutely LOVE the snuggle bunny jumper, it has oodles of charm-especially with the cute faux fur tail! I'm going to sound absolutely ancient now but I hate jumpers that sit high up around your kidney area and let cold draughts assault you. This however is long enough to reach your hips and so will not only keep draughts at bay but will tackle my other nemesis-people wearing leggings with short tops! Vpls and saggy bums are not a good look...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The coat is a little pricey but after saving on the boots and the hat I really think it's worth it. The fur collar is luxurious and will help keep you feeling snug whatever the weather. The jacket can be left undone in nice weather to show off that adorable jumper and then buttoned up if the weather takes a turn for the worse.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bag is, again rather pricey, but you need something with a little luxe feel to it to prevent this look being too scruffy. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The hat will keep both your head and ears warm, preventing any nasty earaches from our harsh British winds.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Party.</u></div>
<u><br /></u>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioM1NXwci_qpKBy5U9EEeWB9b1OgE3R0dmw1ilharJCO56LjII5kgbeJyuittRqTdFuTWrnlul9XpbnqMD7yORFmYGES0uhXfu71zYUzBbXli928iO76HVDgsHHqVtaIBZ0O0JVEpoAQA/s1600/party+outfit+jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioM1NXwci_qpKBy5U9EEeWB9b1OgE3R0dmw1ilharJCO56LjII5kgbeJyuittRqTdFuTWrnlul9XpbnqMD7yORFmYGES0uhXfu71zYUzBbXli928iO76HVDgsHHqVtaIBZ0O0JVEpoAQA/s640/party+outfit+jpg" width="576" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My party look is perfect for the winter season and will take you through the Christmas party season to the new year's parties with ease. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The longer hemline of the dress will keep you warmer than the bottom hugging varieties on offer. It can also be worn to practically any occasion, be it a formal dinner, work party or just clubbing. You can easily throw a cream cardi over it to keep warm while travelling.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I added the faux fur collar to try and add a wintry touch. It also gives the outfit a very luxurious finish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The gold sequin heels are the perfect colour for Christmas and new year's parties but can also be worn throughout the year. I've added a golden nail polish to match.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bracelet is elegant and understated but is a steal at only a fiver. You can also wear it during the day as it isn't too fussy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bag ties in with the shoes and the dress as it is embellished with golden sequins and flowers in pastel shades.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally, the eyeshadow palette from e.l.f has 6 colours and they would all compliment this look perfectly. You could wear one alone or use two or three to create a 'smoky eye' effect.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Casual.</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg85Pk-_g9wBWYYnPu7J_gQFH7mDn7cq6icaT8sfBZytsDRVaY3bCweSq4wfNhu1d8qZ6f_pmCHUHnRQT5LHe4VLa46y2dwwkD1lZPwpJpiu6122-ZMiOfjcdSSCJt-BTIFQfcbjKodQAg/s1600/casual+jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg85Pk-_g9wBWYYnPu7J_gQFH7mDn7cq6icaT8sfBZytsDRVaY3bCweSq4wfNhu1d8qZ6f_pmCHUHnRQT5LHe4VLa46y2dwwkD1lZPwpJpiu6122-ZMiOfjcdSSCJt-BTIFQfcbjKodQAg/s640/casual+jpg" width="540" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My casual look is super comfy and relaxed. I've chosen a skirt and tights for warmth because as much as I love my trusty skinnies they're just not comfortable to lounge in. I would wear this outfit for lounging around the house, doing the Christmas shopping, toasting marshmallows over a fire and taking a walk surrounded by autumn leaves. Feeling wintry yet?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bag is such a bargain and will no doubt take you through spring as well due to the floral detailing. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The skater skirt is a flattering shape and length and the burgundy colour is reminiscent of crisp autumn days. You can also dress the skirt up by teaming with some killer heels and a cream sequin sleeveless blouse.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cute little boots tie in with the skirt and look comfortable, practical and stylish! I wouldn't wear these out in heavy rain or snow however, as the material would most likely be ruined. If you did need to go out in bad weather a stylish pair of wellies would work equally well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've gone for a pair of navy tights to keep legs warm and protected from the elements plus they match the adorable sheep jumper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The jumper is just too cute! It's so versatile and could be worn again and again with jeans, over dresses, over shirts/blouses, with shorts and leggings...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The scarf is light enough to be worn indoors but will also offer some protection from the wind when you venture outside.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The rings add that extra little bit of charm to the outfit, plus I love the colour of the vintage ring against the burgundy of the skirt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Office wear.</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9kaG1nUX-v_mqetZTn8ZSFJ85BP_JLkCrWeyXVuuJ63ydXr_zJpyasb9oBawXQbcCY6xnVuUsX3GagPk3n7eKp3IoJy1wpP7jzkqrfT1-uREcbRUxAi-mA0BsYS-WzMdEwwKZdxw1Z6E/s1600/office+wear+jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9kaG1nUX-v_mqetZTn8ZSFJ85BP_JLkCrWeyXVuuJ63ydXr_zJpyasb9oBawXQbcCY6xnVuUsX3GagPk3n7eKp3IoJy1wpP7jzkqrfT1-uREcbRUxAi-mA0BsYS-WzMdEwwKZdxw1Z6E/s640/office+wear+jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My office look is mainly monochrome and gold with a pop of gorgeous amber. This look is comfortable, stylish and warm, so no worries about any pesky draughts coming in under the office doors!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The dress is a bargain at £32 instead of £42. I'd also wear this for a smart dinner and dress it down with flats for a smart casual look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The boots do look grey in the picture but trust me they are black! £40 may seem like a lot, but compared to the £80 minimum you'd be likely to pay at high street shoe retailers you're saving yourself quite a bit of dosh. Don't forget that these can be worn with skinny jeans and an oversized batwing jumper for a sophisticated day time look or vamped up with leather look trousers/leggings and a rock inspired vest or Tshirt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Tights are essential in winter as far as I'm concerned. No one wants to see my pasty goose pimpled legs in summer, let alone in winter! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cardigan is ideal for wearing in the office, you don't want something with huge trailing sleeves getting in the way! The sleeves on this can of course be rolled up slightly to show off the statement cuff bracelet. The amber colour of this is fantastic and adds subtle warmth and colour to an otherwise quite cold and clinical look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bag is great value, as expected of New Look. It's large enough to hold work paraphernalia, umbrella, keys, lunch and makeup, plus a book or magazine and an mp3 player if you use public transport for the commute. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>First date.</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfQjT0RvWf33pn1qZUiLRBy9zW77vSQ7actgeWKIruftvpN3SDYUniMuuQTC9ATecuV9cD0hnGL3BgdVRWgbnT5uerA6Oe-O3aUf1Jb2oqtPcNlV1O9ShYAWdkZExB34yu6A48woxDb34/s1600/first+date+jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfQjT0RvWf33pn1qZUiLRBy9zW77vSQ7actgeWKIruftvpN3SDYUniMuuQTC9ATecuV9cD0hnGL3BgdVRWgbnT5uerA6Oe-O3aUf1Jb2oqtPcNlV1O9ShYAWdkZExB34yu6A48woxDb34/s640/first+date+jpg" width="618" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My first date look is really versatile. It would be just as wearable at the cinema, bowling alley, and posh restaurant as it would be to do some sightseeing, have a pub lunch or go for a walk in the park.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The lace dress with the peter pan collar is super girly but the deep navy stops it looking too immature. The three quarter length sleeves are great for autumn and winter layering. Also, this is either the same or a very similar dress to that worn by Holly Willoughby on celebrity juice on 6/9/12.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The blazer is in such a fun colour and can be worn with pretty much anything: a tea dress, a blouse and tailored black trousers, or a vintage Tshirt and skinny jeans. Considering how much use you can potentially get out of it I think the price is very reasonable.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The shoes are another bargain New Look find, I love the gold detail on the fronts. In my experience New Look shoes look just as good as high end shoes but for a fraction of the price and they can last a fair time too, I've had some of mine for years!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm so pleased I found this bag, It's smart without being over the top and considering it only costs £28 it doesn't look cheap in the slightest. It can be carried in the hand or worn on the shoulder and will have plenty of room for essentials such as purse, phone, umbrella, makeup, mirror, a book and a bottle of water.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The lip tint and nail polish from e.l.f are such great value, I mean how often can you pick up a nail polish for £2.50 these days? They have a range of fab colours too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The fox ring is another favourite, I love animal jewellery (and clothing) as if you couldn't tell! You can trust Accessorize to bring you quirky, statement pieces at affordable prices and this is no exception.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There you have it, my five autumn/winter outfits! I think that each outfit is affordable and just as importantly all of the pieces from each outfit can easily be worn in a variety of different ways with different outfits. For example you can even mix and match the items from my five outfits to create new unique styles, such as taking the bunny jumper from the 'outdoor' outfit and wearing it over the dress from the 'office' outfit and adding the shoes from the 'first date' outfit. Similarly you could take the jumper and the shoes from the 'casual' outfit and wear with the dress from 'first date' and add the fur collar from 'party' as an extra touch. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The possibilities are as endless as your imagination! You may think you are buying five outfits but you may in fact end up with 10 or more options!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've tried to style each one with the British weather in mind and I hope you like my outfits as much as I do, just don't forget to take a brolly!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

As you can see I have quite a few Lush lip products! Although my apple pie flavour one (which I think is called 'Lip squeak' or something similar) is missing at the moment! I've been using Lush lip balms for about 5 years or so now, and I've recently started using their lip tints and scrubs too. As you may know Lush specialise in 'fresh, handmade cosmetics'. Most of their products are Vegan and contain products that are ethically sourced. They try to use as many natural products as possible and are against animal testing (yay!) preferring to test their products on humans. Which is only fair and right as far as I'm concerned, although my female ferret Lola has a thing about rummaging through my make-up bag pulling everything out, she doesn't actually need to wear any of it! But anyway that is getting onto another topic! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm going to talk about three of my favourite lip products at the moment: 'Sweet lips' lip scrub, 'Whip stick' lip balm and 'It started with a kiss' lip tint. As much as I like the lip tints and the fact that they contain moisturising ingredients, I still find they cling to dry patches so I'm going to talk about the scrub and balm first as I use these to prepare my lips for tint. </div>

Sweet lips is one of Lush's tasty lip scrubs. It has a gorgeous vanilla chocolate scent and the taste reminds me of walnut whips! It's a vegan product, and as you would expect is perfectly safe to lick off. You simple take a small finger full of the scented sugar and rub it into your lips, removing any flaky dry skin as you do so. Then you can simply lick the remainder off and it tastes great! As you can probably tell from the packaging compared to the ones on the Lush website or in-store, I've had mine for ages; a little really does go a long way! I probably shouldn't but I still use mine and it's perfectly fine. It currently retails at £5.25 which is very reasonable considering how long it lasts. It leaves your lips really smooth, ready for lip balm!</div>

Whip stick has to be my all time favourite balm! With its chocolate orange flavour who wouldn't love it? I first had this balm when I was eighteen, I bought it again a couple of months ago and now use it every day. Not only does it contain real dark chocolate, sweet orange oil and cocoa absolute for flavour, but it also contains soothing oat milk, shea butter and honey. This one is vegetarian not vegan, but they do have vegan balms too. This works really fast to tackle sore, chapped and flaking lips. Mine were getting on my nerves as they were so bad, but as soon as I started using whip stick I noticed an improvement! This is definitely one for the 'Terry's chocolate orange' lover who wants to avoid a few calories! It's £5.50 but your money will be well spent, these balms last such a long time and they work wonders on your pout. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm still not entirely sure why, but I had to have this lip tint as soon as I saw it in 'The Lush Times'. Lush say 'Because one day your prince will come. Didn't every girl want to be Snow White, with those kissable red lips-well, now we all have the chance with this apple and cinnamon lip balm tint.' </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It does contain soothing and smoothing agents much like the balms, but I still found it would cling to dry patches; this is why I now use it over Whip stick. Although it looks very red in the tin it applies as more of a pinkish red, as you'll see in the photos below. The photos aren't a great representation of the colour, lighting will also play a big part. The best thing to do would be to try a tester in store and step outside with a mirror to see if you like the result. I wear mine fairly sheer, which also affects the colour, but you can build depth by layering. This is a tasty one too, with white chocolate, fresh red apple infusion and cinnamon. It helps soothe lips with extra virgin coconut oil, organic rose hip oil and shea butter. This is also £5.50 at the moment, and will probably last even longer than the balms, depending on how much you use obviously! Here is the balm on me...</div>

<br />
As a lover of 'The Da Vinci code' and a few of Dan Brown's other novels, here is my personal list of top book picks for other Dan Brown/history/thriller/mystery fans, from my own collection. I start with a snippet about The Da Vinci code for anyone that hasn't yet read it or seen the film (I would still suggest to read the novel even if you've seen the film as in my opinion the films are always second best to the trusty original books)<br />
<br />
The Da Vinci code by Dan Brown (First published in 2003) is an international best seller, having also been made into a major motion picture, and it's not hard to see why! It's a fast paced whirlwind of a thriller that is perfect for history and puzzle lovers.<br />
I can't imagine that there are many that haven't either read the novel or seen the film, but if you haven't then here's something to whet your appetite...<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
'Harvard professor Robert Langdon receives a late-night phone call while on business in Paris: the elderly curator of the Louvre has been brutally murdered inside the museum. Alongside the body, police have found a series of baffling codes. As Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, begin to sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to find a trail that reveals a mystery stretching deep into the vault of history.<br />
But Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine code and quickly assemble the pieces of the puzzle, a stunning historical truth will be lost forever...'<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Firstly, my first recommendations would be Dan Brown's other novels, particularly 'Angels and demons' and 'The lost symbol'. I'm not going to feature them on here, but focus on work from other authors. If you want to check out more of Dan Brown's work then please visit his official website <a href="http://www.danbrown.com/#/home">here</a>, which I have to say is a fantastic little site! You select what book you want to view in detail from an ancient looking cabinet, and then you can read reviews, an excerpt, FAQ's plus lots more!<br />

The Shakespeare secret by J.L Carrell (first published in 2007) has been praised by Publishers weekly as having 'Plot twists worthy of The Da Vinci code'. This is another Thriller that is almost impossible to put down. I read this quite a while ago but I loved every second of it. It contains true revelations regarding Shakespeare's life, and the ever present and intriguing theories surrounding him.<br />
<br />
'A woman is left to die in a burning theatre. Another woman is drowned like Ophelia, skirts swirling in the water. A doctor has his throat slashed open on the steps of Washington's Capitol building.<br />
A deadly serial killer is on the loose, modelling his sickening murders on Shakespeare's plays. But why is he killing? And how can he be stopped?'<br />
<br />
There is also now another book entitled 'The Shakespeare curse' or otherwise known as 'Haunt me still' in the U.S which follows the main character from this story, which can be found on the author's website <a href="http://www.jenniferleecarrell.com/index.html">here.</a><br />

Sticking with the 'secret' theme the Botticelli secret written by Marina Fiorato is a much loved read of mine and really started my interest in renaissance Italy. Be warned: it has explicit language and sexual themes. This isn't one for the easily offended! Once again this is a race against time story packed to the rafters with adventure, murder, revelations and mystery, with romance thrown in to the mix for good measure.<br />
'In the colourful world of fifteenth-century Italy, Luciana Vetra is young and beautiful, a part time model and full time whore. When she is asked to pose as the goddess Flora for Sandro Botticelli's <i>La Primavera</i>, she is willing to oblige-until the artist abruptly sends her away without payment. Affronted she steals an unfinished version of the painting-only to find that someone is ready to kill her to get it back.<br />
As friends and associates are murdered around her, Luciana turns to the one man who has never tried to exploit her beauty, Brother Guido della Torre, a novice at the monastery of Santa Croce. Fleeing Florence together, Luciana and Guido race through the nine great <br />
cities of renaissance Italy, desperately trying to decode the painting's secrets before their enemies stop them.'<br />
By following this <a href="http://www.marinafiorato.com/the-botticelli-secret/" target="_blank">link</a> to the author's website you can find out more, download the first chapter and buy the book.<br />

Labyrinth is one of my favourite books that I have in my collection, and actually one of my favourite reads full stop. History fans with a sense of adventure will not be disappointed!<br />
Published in 2005 it follows two women from very different times as they both try to uncover the secret of the 'true Grail'.<br />
<br />
'July 1209: In Carcassone a seventeen year old girl is given a mysterious book by her father which he claims contains the secret of the true Grail. Although Alais cannot understand the strange words and symbols hidden within, she knows that her destiny lies in keeping the secret of the labyrinth safe...<br />
<br />
July 2005: Alice Tanner discovers two skeletons in a forgotten cave in the French Pyrenees. Puzzled by the Labyrinth symbol carved into the rock, she realises she's disturbed something that was meant to remain hidden. Somehow, a link to a horrific past-her past- has been revealed.'<br />

Lastly, I feel I have to add this book as it fits the theme so well. However, I have to confess that I haven't actually finished it. I found the writing style at times difficult to 'get into' and the main character rather unlike-able. But that's for you to judge, most of you will probably love it. I will pick it up again at a later date and try again, as I was intrigued by the idea that the novel brings to readers. Please don't judge on my opinion alone and my inability to see something through to the end!<br />
<br />
'AN ANCIENT MANUSCRIPT HAS REMAINED CONCEALED FOR CENTURIES -- WITHIN ITS PAGES LIES THE KEY TO THE MOST UNHOLY SECRET KNOWN TO MANKIND.<br />
<br />
A sacred brotherhood has sworn, generation after generation, to protect this terrifying truth from those who would use it to unleash doomsday upon mankind.<br />
<br />
When the unthinkable happens, and the holy scroll is uncovered, the race is on to reveal the true meaning of the cryptic language. Only one man, Dr. Thomas Lourds, the world's foremost scholar of ancient languages, who we first met in the bestselling novel The Atlantis Code, can safely decipher this most deadly scripture.<br />
<br />
Lourds soon becomes the bait in the most lethal manhunt -- knowing he must confront the true face of evil if the world is to be saved...'<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So there you have it, my book picks for fans of historical thrillers such as 'The Da Vinci code'. I hope you enjoy them!<br />

I love them so much, partly because of my love for animals, partly due to the fact that they are all natural and mainly because they just work!<br />
<br />
Badger is a family run business in New Hampshire U.S. Badger balm came about when back in 1994 Bill Whyte sought a solution for the cracked and bleeding hands that he and his carpenter friends were suffering from. He mixed some beeswax and olive oil, a little bit of experimentation later his hands were healed, and he made batches to give to his friends and colleagues to try. Bear paw was created.<br />
As the new business was just getting started, and Bill was about to have tins made to sell his 'Bear Paw' balm, disaster struck. Although he'd checked the trade mark registry to see if the name was taken there was in fact a hand cream that had been around for a little while called Bear Paw.<br />
Luckily this was probably actually a good turn of events as the name Badger came to him. Badger being a healing totem, The root gatherer who possesses great knowledge concerning the root and herb kingdoms-perfect for a budding organic business!<br />
They are now a USDA certified organic facility, using fair trade certified cocoa butter and ethically sourced ingredients. They also proudly display the leaping bunny logo, declaring that their products haven't been tested on animals. From 'Bear Paw' and the very humble beginnings to the now internationally known company that produces everything from lip balms and body balms to aromatherapy balms and sun cream, Badger Balm is a nature lovers dream. The products are so natural, they're even safe to eat!<br />
They now have 20 different types of lip balm, three types of everyday moisturiser, foot balm, baby products, three types of antioxidant body oil, face oil, facial beauty balm, anti-bug balms, sticks and creams, sun creams and after sun balm, three massage oils, three varieties of sore muscle rub, sore joint rub, aromatherapy balms, chest rub, 6 soaps, Badger Balm hats, tote bags, posters, three hair oils (coming in September!) and of course the original Badger Balm for hands, in scented and unscented. I think that's everything!<br />
<br />
I've just ordered some Badger balm 'for hard working hands', sore muscle rub and sore joint rub for after my days at the zoo! Unfortunately Badger Balm are not currently taking orders from outside the U.S. via their main website <a href="http://www.badgerbalm.com/">badgerbalm.com</a> but they do provide a list of International distributors that stock Badger products and recommend an online store that ships internationally, <a href="http://uncommonscents.com/Badger-Balm-s/128.htm">Uncommon scents</a>, who I placed my order with. You can use sites like Amazon and Ebay but the range is sadly limited and far pricier for some products than if you were to buy elsewhere. I really want a Badger tote bag, and I'm hoping I can find one on one of these sites! I can't wait to get my new badger goodies, they're good value for such good quality, natural products-and they really do work! I've had their foot balm for ages, I honestly can't remember how long now, it's still going strong and still works as well as it did the day I bought it!<br />
<br />
Badger Balm are also on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/badgerbalm">Facebook</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/badgerbalmusa">Twitter</a>, so feel free to 'like' and 'follow' for updates and sneak previews.<br />
I'll do a little review once I get my new products!<br />

I've compiled five key outfits from the New Look online store for a dream holiday in Ibiza: Travel style, Poolside, Beach it, Sunset supper and Beach to bar. Just add sun cream!<br />

<br />
First up is my travel look. This look is perfect for flying to and from Ibiza. The playsuit is relaxed and comfortable, perfect for slouching around in the airport and on the flight. The headscarf and sunnies will be vital once you touch down in Ibiza to keep your hair away from your face and protect your eyes from any glare as you exit the plane. The shoes are in the cutest pastel shade that tie in well with the headscarf, they're also comfortable and cool in hot weather whilst keeping your feet warm when you get back to (likely rainy) Britain. The bracelets add a chilled out holiday vibe to the look. If it's really cold when you leave the plane on arrival back in Britain you could through over a pale lemon or grey hoodie.<br />

Next up is my poolside outfit. You shouldn't be afraid to mix and match your bikinis as it helps you achieve a really unique look, imagine turning up to the pool and seeing another girl with the same bikini on as you! The bikini bottoms I've picked have colours that correspond to the bikini top, and I've used these colours to build the rest of the look. The sandals are comfy for walking to the pool bar but easy to slip off when you're ready to take a dip. Sunnies are important if you plan on doing some sunbathing or poolside reading. The kaftan is a useful cover up if you decide to head into town or the beach-no need to go back to the hotel room! The jade green nail polish and turquoise accessories bring the look together, tying in with the bikini colours perfectly.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR4gXGZL4OALWQ7308Gkfu4954lPXWc1yeO_ZBkec36-lt2ZuYgiYWFIgm41KxLWVOC0lV0Q37vmY-gLyW0pbDlSp_Y5p6Jbu_59RfyZz9R4YSwXKmec3tbt7QiXkWjiFk5271fyBxXzs/s1600/beach" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR4gXGZL4OALWQ7308Gkfu4954lPXWc1yeO_ZBkec36-lt2ZuYgiYWFIgm41KxLWVOC0lV0Q37vmY-gLyW0pbDlSp_Y5p6Jbu_59RfyZz9R4YSwXKmec3tbt7QiXkWjiFk5271fyBxXzs/s640/beach" width="600" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Beach it.<br />
<br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
This is my beach look, perfect for chilling in the shade, walking to and from the beach, sunbathing and hitting the waves. I've used the maxi dress as a stylish cover up, it's more appropriate for shopping and sightseeing before or after the beach than a flimsy kaftan but is just as easy to slip on and off. The coral beaded sandals will look great with a tan due to the coral and gold tones. This cute mismatched bikini is perfect for those with a smaller bust as the ruffle detail will create a fuller effect. It also matches the dress, so no worries about straps showing. The hat and sunglasses are essential on hot days, particularly if you're sunbathing, the band on the hat ties in with the dress nicely too, so it's part of the outfit rather than a random accessory you picked up at the last minute. The bright coral lipstick will really pop, and unlike lipgloss you wont have to worry about getting sand and hair stuck to your face! I've added a pale pink nail polish to prevent the look being too over the top, and let the rest of the outfit do the talking.<br />

The sunset supper look is ultra sophisticated for any formal dinners you might attend while on holiday. The cream lace dress is effortlessly classy, you wont look like you're going to a ball rather than dinner! The gold lace shoes really compliment the dress and will look fab with a tan. The glitter gold clutch adds some wow factor and a bit of colour, whilst staying true to the overall feel of the outfit. Deep red nail polish turns this look very sultry, without looking trashy. Shimmery eyeshadows are a must, and a sweep of bronzer along cheekbones and collarbones will complete your bronze goddess look.<br />

My beach to club look is pretty self explanatory, it's comfortable and cool enough for the beach but you can head straight to the clubs without looking too 'beachy' and out of place. The scarf print dress is a great staple piece that can be dressed up or down, I've obviously tried to go for something in between the two. The sandals make walking on the beach a breeze, they are on trend for the clubs and you wont have sore feet at the end of the night! The colours of the bracelets match the dress perfectly, I'm a bit of a match-aholic if you hadn't guessed! The feather jewellery keeps in with the tribal feel originally brought to the look by the sandals and the nude bag prevents a clash of colours and patterns occurring. Don't forget the bronzer and a pale pink lipgloss for when you hit the clubs!<br />
<br />
So there you have it! Five fab looks for any Ibiza bound goddess, just don't forget the sun cream and an MP3 player full of summer tracks!<br />

It's not the same holding plastic and glass instead of bound paper, you don't really get that 'ooh I'm this far through' feeling like you do when you pop a bookmark in a heavy tome and you don't get those lovely inky new book smells either. Yes, I really am a book 'geek'!<br />
I am actually reading one paperback at the moment, with two on standby that I've left at the wayside unfortunately, and I have several patiently waiting for me on one of my bookshelves. The paperback I borrowed from work, so I have to pay a weekly charge, I would normally have read it well within a week but I'm sad to say I'm now on the second week and I haven't picked it up again as I've just got into another ebook (I know, I know!)<br />
Anyway, here are my current and most recent reads....<br />
<br />
<b><u>Trylle trilogy</u></b><br />
<b><u><br /></u></b>
It took me like three days to read the entire Trylle trilogy, I was hooked! The books are Switched, Torn and Ascend and are written by Amanda Hocking. They were first self published but have now been published by Pan Macmillan this year. The main themes are: fantasy, adventure and romance. Please note that there is violence and also sexual themes in the series. I'll give you the official synopsis for the first book, but I refuse to do the same for the others! There is nothing worse than having bits and bobs revealed accidentally. All I need to get me into a series is to hear about the first book, then if I like it I'll read the others, I don't want to know what happens until I read them!<br />

Switched is the first book in the series and introduces us to Wendy, a seventeen year old girl whose never felt like she belonged...<br />
<br />
'When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right.<br />
<br />
With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.'<br />

<b><u>Graceling, Fire and Bitterblue.</u></b><br />
<b><u><br /></u></b>
Graceling, Fire and Bitterblue form a trilogy of sorts written by Kristin Cashore. Graceling is her debut novel, Fire is a companion stand alone prequel and Bitterblue is a companion to both and is set eight years after the events in Graceling. The themes are pretty much the same as for the Trylle trilogy, adventure, action, fantasy and romance being the major themes, with violence and sexual themes thrown in as it is again aimed at young adults. Again, I'm only going to give you the briefing for the first book, though I'm going to leave one piece of information out, it's fairly apparent that this event will happen once you get reading, but I just hate giving too much information about a book, otherwise you don't even need to read the thing!<br />
There seem to be two covers available for each book, so I'll provide you with both.<br />

<b><u>Rescue me: My life with the Battersea Dogs.</u></b><br />
<b><u><br /></u></b>
Rescue me is Melissa Wareham's memoir chronicling her life at Battersea Dogs Home which spanned 15 years. This is a topic very close to my heart, and after seeing the front cover I just couldn't help but take it home with me. It's a frank, often funny and moving story of the lost souls that end up in Battersea, and the colourful collection of people wanting to welcome them into their homes. A real eye opener for those that haven't worked with animals as to what really goes on in our dog shelters behind the scenes. Having worked voluntarily for two years in a well known dog rescue centre myself I can relate to many of her tales, and I've found myself laughing, shaking my head in disbelief and almost in tears at some of the stories I've read so far.<br />

'Melissa Wareham always wanted to work with dogs. After failing her O-level she realised she'd have to start at the bottom, cleaning out kennels at Battersea Dogs Home.<br />
<br />
The first dog Melissa fell for was Tulip, a sweet, elderly and somewhat dotty mongrel who decided a solo bus ride into the west end might be fun. Next up was Roscoe: found by the ambulance team with his dead owner, he was rehabilitated with a little help from his master's hat. And then-many, many dogs later-there was Gus. With his owner in jail, Melissa finally found the dog she was to take home as her own.'<br />

What is BB cream? Also known as Beauty Balms or Blemish Balms they offer a wide variety of skin enhancing/conditioning properties as well as a light coverage. Most creams moisturise, prime, conceal and have some level of sun protection. Some of the fancier Asian brands I've seen also have anti-ageing benefits and skin lightening.They were originally created by a dermatologist for facial surgery patients, to provide some cover while nourishing the skin and encouraging healing. Normal foundation wouldn't be beneficial to post surgery/laser treatment skin whatsoever. It became huge in South Korea and Japan, starting with Korean actresses and celebrities. It's now being introduced over here with major brands like Maybelline and Loreal producing their own creams.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Mostly blended and I have a lovely orange patch!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
The search for the perfect BB cream led me to Dr. Jart + water fuse beauty balm. I really wanted an Asian brand called BRTC but it was a bit extravagant for what I wanted it for (a light coverage for my days out in the heat at the zoo where I volunteer). I wanted to steer clear of brands such as Maybelline as I was sure their BB cream would be just as orange as their foundations! I saw this pop up on an online search and read a few customer reviews. They claimed that it was suitable for virtually any skin tone, and a couple of customers commented on how brilliant it was for pale skin. It has an spf of 25, reasonable for a BB cream and water fuse technology, to try to help lock moisture in your skin. </div>
<div>
It goes on really smoothly, doesn't feel greasy as it's water based and has quite a light feeling. Leaving the colour aside for a minute, it looks really natural, like you're not wearing anything on your skin. It's very sheer, but you can possibly build coverage, otherwise it really will look like you're not wearing anything!</div>
<div>
It blends fairly easily, but I keep finding darker patches after I've apparently blended it properly, so I'd definitely check it before you go out anywhere!</div>
<div>
Now, the colour...It is too dark for my skin, plain and simple. I don't know how pale these people from the reviews are, but they're clearly not as pale as me. To be fair, once really blended, it is passable, but I have to wear a very small amount and really blend it in, so it doesn't really do much for my complexion and it seems fairly pointless wearing it! If you have medium to fairly pale skin this will probably be perfect for you. If you have very fair translucent skin like myself then you will be better off buying an Asian brand, as the pale look is extremely hot over there.<br />
I'm now using it as a primer under a very thin layer of my pale 'Dainty doll' foundation, and it does a great job!<br />
I bought mine from Boots.com at the reasonable price of £13 reduced from £18 for 50ml. If you think this cream is perfect for you and want to know more then please click <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Dr-Jart-Water-Fuse-Beauty-Balm-Cream-SPF25-50ml_1260414/">here</a> to visit the product on the Boots website.<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"></a><br />
I better start saving for that dream cream! *Sigh<br />

Frankie and Benny's is a largely 50's themed restaurant serving Italian-American food. There are booths with red and white striped leather and 50's classics such as 'Shakin' all over' by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and 'Blue moon' by the Marcels. It's probably an idea to pick a quiet time to go as if you get a noisy group near you the music is barely audible, which is a problem we had for about the first 15 minutes or so until the noisy group of girls finally left!<br />
We arrived a tad early which wasn't a problem, we were seated and served straightaway, with our food taking less than 10 minutes to reach us. The menu is so vast, there's just so much to choose from and it all sounds delicious! We went for the specials menu where you can get two courses for £10.95, which is a huge saving compared to some of things from the main menu. The downside is that the specials menu doesn't have an overly large selection but we both managed to find something we wanted.<br />
I opted for the Chicken Caesar burger with fries and relish, then the hot chocolate waffle for after. My other half picked the philly chicken and bacon wrap and had the same desert.<br />
I would probably go again as the food was quite good, the service was excellent and the price reasonable. I would as I said go at a quieter time though as the atmosphere was ruined slightly at the beginning by noisy girls but what can you do? Next time I'll order from the main menu too, though I'd better start deciding what I want now! It consisted of a pale pink deer print one piece (my fave piece at the moment) from ASOS, a black skater style skirt also from ASOS I believe, ordinary footless tights that you can get pretty much anywhere, nude ballet pumps from New look and two rings from Accesorize and one was passed to me from my Nan. My handbag is from River Island and I can't honestly remember where my sunnies are from, sorry! My hair colour is Lush's Caca rouge henna.<br />
These pics were taken using my little Samsung mp3 so they're not the best quality but I've included a close up of my top so that you can see the cute deer pattern.<br />

</div>
After what seems like weeks of endless rain the sun has deemed Britain worthy of its presence and we're now in the middle of a heatwave! It's literally too hot for me to do anything outside but hang washing out! I certainly won't be sunbathing, this blog isn't called 'The Pale Peony' for nothing! However, I did venture out to snap a few quick photographs on my mp3 player of the gorgeous blue skies overhead. I've had the windows open all day and the fan on too but nothing moves this heat, it's almost suffocating in a way. But there I go, doing the usual British thing of moaning about whatever weather we have, instead of making the best of it! Well I AM glad to see the sun, and it can stay as long as it likes, I'm just going to be enjoying it in the shade with liberal amounts of factor 50....<br />

This sweet Chilli chicken dish has to be an all time favourite in our house. Not only is it quick to cook (taking less than 10 minutes) but it is also versatile. You can serve it with rice as in the picture or it's excellent with chips too (depending how naughty you're feeling!)<br />

So ladies, we may not be able to pull off an actual moustache, but we can still work the look! Moustache prints and designs are everywhere at the moment, so I've put together two outfits to rock the look! The first look is monochrome, and is designed for going out having been made slightly formal with the blazer and heels. However you could also make this a day look by ditching the blazer and swapping the heels for biker boots. </div>

My animals are really important to me, so I'm going to tell you a little bit about them. We have three ferrets, two boys and a girl. Despite what people think, ferrets aren't vicious, overly smelly or rodents! They are actually carnivorous and would rather eat a rodent than play with it...They are highly intelligent, playful, lovable creatures that crave companionship from other ferrets and their humans, and they can live for up to 10 years. They are unique little rascals with their own individual personalities. They each have a favourite food/treat, toy and habit! They have a vast array of noises and gestures to communicate with their handlers and other ferrets, such as 'dooking' an adorable squeaky noise they make when happy, hissing when annoyed and they can also wag their tail much like a dog! Ours tend to tail wag only when playing with each other in their tunnels, it's a much rarer but very endearing behaviour! Seeing a ferret dooking and 'dancing' around when delirious with joy is just so special to watch, it's like nothing you've ever seen before!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
We have two Albino males, named Alfie and Shiro, who may seem creepy to some due to their red eyes but they're just as adorable and friendly as any other ferret. Albino is simply another type of ferret, like polecat coloured and silvers. They're just over 1 year old now, we've had them for about 9 months and I couldn't imagine life without them! Our new little girl is called Lola and is a slightly more unusual colour. She's a 3 month old sable blaze mitt, who is into absolutely everything at the moment and is learning very quickly! I can't wait to take her to ferret shows with the boys and start showing her off! If anyone wants to learn more about ferrets and keeping ferrets then you could check out my other blog (FerretDook) completely devoted to the subject <a href="http://ferretdook.blogspot.co.uk/">here</a>. For now, here they are!</div>

We also have a Syrian hamster called Faye. She's 11 months old at the moment and we've had her for 10 months. Syrian hamsters are also known as golden hamsters, and are one of the most popular pets, especially for young children. They are fairly low maintenance pets, not ever really needing to visit the vets in most cases. Unfortunately, although they are commonplace here now as we breed them for sale at pet shops and the like, they are now seen as vulnerable in the wild, as we are destroying their natural habitat. They usually live for 1 1/2 to 2 years although they have been known to live for four years! She has a fairly large Rotastak system, which I've collected over the years, comprising of several compartments and tubing for her to explore. She gets a hamster mix feed and fresh fruit/veg daily if possible. Hamsters tend to only eat what they want and stash the rest in a food store, which is why I can't understand how some people manage to make their hamsters overweight! All three of mine have been skinny little things, even with additional treats like cheese every so often! Faye is quite a reclusive hamster, so we don't get to take too many photos, but here she is.<br />

Thetford forest consists of pine, heathland and broadleaves, and is the largest lowland pine forest in Britain. It was created after the first world war for timber, as we had lost quite a few slow growing oaks and such due to the war demands. There is a huge variety of animals here, from rabbits, hares, Muntjac, Roe and Red deer to birds such as the Woodlark, Goshawk and Siskin.<br />
<div>
The High Lodge visitors centre is the main destination if you're after something extra. They have a restaurant and gift shop, you can hire bicycles and have fun on the Go Ape high wire course. It's also the venue for many events such as concerts, theatre performances and the weird and wonderful, like the 'Electric forest' event that we went to in December 2011. It was basically a performance using lights, sounds, interactive objects and of course the forest, with a stargazer for those wanting to have a go and marshmallows to toast on bonfires. Here are a few piccies!</div>

Whatever the season I just love Thetford forest, particularly the more peaceful and less trodden areas away from High lodge. The chances of actually seeing some wildlife is far greater without little children screaming and people bringing their dogs! There is just a really calm, soothing feel about the forest, I can feel really at home and at peace here. I'm often inspired to write when I'm at the forest, so maybe next time I'll take a venture down there with a pad and pen and see what happens....<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My hair before the henna...Ignore the lack of makeup haha!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Yes, yes, I do know what Caca means, and to be honest it does look like it when the henna is mixed with water, but trust me its not! Caca rouge is Lush's reddest henna, for a vibrant result.<br />
I decided to try henna as I really want to get a natural redhead (okay, ginger) finish. I did some research on-line and was generally impressed with the results that people were getting. One advantage for me was that it was far cheaper than getting my hair coloured at the salon and also that the henna would be better for my hair overall.<br />
Henna has been used for various reasons since the bronze age, and we typically think of henna now as in henna tattoos, many people don't realise that you can use it to colour your hair. Lush's henna is sourced from Persia, which is seen as the best quality and gives redder tones, even though it can be harder to get hold of.<br />
Lush sell their henna in blocks rather than powder form, as they have added cocoa butter to try and leave the hair feeling soft and healthy. They are £7.95 for a 325g block, depending on the thickness and length of your hair you may get two uses out of one block. I just about got two uses out of mine, I made the first batch too thick!<br />
Basically before you even start you need to make sure you have the following, or something similar!<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Bain marie/saucepan and heatproof bowl for melting your henna and keeping it hot (I just use a plastic takeaway box and boiling water in the sink!)</li>
<li>A sharp knife to cute the henna block (Or if you're fairly strong you can break it up like I do)</li>
<li>A non metal spoon (Apparently metal interferes with the henna)</li>
<li>Old towels, newspaper etc</li>
<li>Old clothes that you don't mind getting stained</li>
<li>Rubber gloves</li>
<li>Hair clips</li>
<li>Vaseline or Lush's Ultrabalm</li>
<li>Cling film</li>
<li>Hair dryer</li>
<li>A warm towel</li>
<li>A willing friend to help with the application!</li>
</ul>
<div>
You need to allow yourself at least half a hour, probably nearer an hour depending on how much hair you have for the application of the henna, at least 4 hours for the henna to do its stuff and then a good 20 minutes or so to wash the stuff out! I'm not going to sugar coat it-It's messy, time consuming, fairly smelly (it brings on a migraine for me) and yes it does look like you've smeared poo in your hair! </div>
<div>
What I would do first (I didn't do this and regretted it) is to cover the floor with newspaper or old towels, as this stuff gets everywhere, even when you don't mix it as runny as they say to!</div>
<div>
You need to pop the gloves on and break your henna up into fairly small pieces, please don't feel that you need to grate it, unless you have nothing better to do with your time then it is totally pointless! If broken into pieces about the same size (or even a little larger) as chocolate squares then you will have a completely liquid gloop within 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure it will take you far longer than that to grate it!</div>
<div>
If you are lucky enough to own a bain marie then use that, or a saucepan and heatproof bowl. I did my application in the bathroom so neither of these was really appropriate. Instead I poured a little boiling water into my plastic tub of henna pieces and the rest into my bathroom sink before sitting the tub in the sink. You want to keep the henna as hot as possible for this whole process, which to be fair doesn't happen when you do it my way, so be warned! </div>
<div>
Take your spoon and start turning the henna pieces in the water and chopping at them with your spoon. They will soften and start to break up fairly quickly. The instructions tell you to mix it to the consistency of double cream, but anyone who has come across double cream will know it really isn't that thick and I didn't fancy having it dripping everywhere, so I made it up a little thicker.</div>
<div>
Some people add paprika, cinnamon and even red wine to the henna to try and boost the colour. That's entirely up to you but I'm not sure how much truth is behind it!</div>
<div>
Apply some Vaseline or Ultrabalm around the hairline and I would cover a wide area if I was you as this stuff really does get everywhere, staining clothes and skin. The skin staining doesn't last too long, only a few hours as long as you try and wash it the best you can.</div>
<div>
Start at the back with your hair clipped up out of the way and henna small sections of hair at a time. You need to really work the gloop into the hair, paying particular attention to the roots. You will kind of get a dreadlock effect if you're doing it properly.</div>
<div>
Once your hair is covered you should wrap it in clingfilm if you want the reddest results. I gave mine a quick blast from the hairdryer after wrapping it to try and get some heat in there, as heat is what will bring out a redder finish. I then wrapped it in a warm towel for the same reason, but you probably wont look as strange answering the door with a towel on your head as you would just with clingfilm and a poo colour on your hair! Don't worry if the clingfilm goes green, this is normal and your hair isn't doing the same thing!</div>
<div>
After at least four hours you can remove the clingfilm and start to wash your hair! I really soak my hair first, the water runs orange for what feels like forever. I shampoo twice, which removes most of the gritty bits. I really concentrate on the roots as the cocoa butter can feel and look greasy if left in. I then condition my hair twice, which helps the last bits and pieces slide out quite easily, before rinsing thoroughly until the water runs clear. Even while towel drying you should be able to see a difference. Blondes and greys will go a very vibrant ginger, and darker hair colours will likely have a reddish hue to them, or a dark copper finish. </div>
<div>
My hair didn't go as light or as ginger as I was hoping for. It's still copper and quite vibrant but it's just not the 'wow' change that I was expecting. Please excuse the scruffy hair (I'd just dried it quickly before bed) and the henna stained top but this is the best picture I could get of the colour, as it doesn't show up well in photographs indoors (another disappointment).</div>

If anyone else out there has used henna or a similar colour dye to this then please share your experiences! I have to say that I probably won't bother with this again just yet and I will try another chemical dye to try and get that ginger colour that I'm after! Sorry Lush....<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">Update! </span>It has been one month since my last henna application, and I've discovered it is very vibrant in the sunlight! Even after all this time it's still bright copper! I have some root growth though so I'm going to re-apply soon or try Loreal's Mango intense copper...But anyhow, here is a pic of my hair outdoors about two weeks after the second application.<br />

I'll give you a little bit of information about myself to get things started, but as I post you'll learn all about my hobbies, interests and daily life.<br />
I'm britsish, 23 years old and married. I live in the county of Norfolk, a mainly agricultural area with one small city being Norwich. Norwich was once the second largest city in England but the Great Plague put an end to that in 1665. Attleborough, the town I live in was part of the main route from Norwich to London (and still is though now there is a major road running alongside Attleborough) and was well known for its cider making and Norfolk turkeys, whose feet were apparently tarred to protect them on the long journeys they would have to make.<br />
I have four pets at the moment, three ferrets and a hamster. Two of my ferrets are males named Alfie and Shiro and one is female named Lola. My hamster is a little girl called Faye. You will come to realise that I am animal mad, my hope is to work with animals full time one day, although finding a job in this economic climate is tough at the moment. So for now I'm stuck doing a job I hate but I also volunteer at my local zoo which is really enjoyable!<br />
Appearance wise, I probably have one of those faces that's better for radio haha! But anyway, I'm about 5'2, I have naturally light brown hair, but I've got into dying it recently so it's a copper shade at the moment. I have really pale translucent skin, that freckles easily (I should have been born a redhead!) that I used to hate, but I've really learnt to love it and I try to keep it pale by wearing lots of sunscreen!<br />
I love cooking, I have far too many cookbooks! Traditional English grub is a favourite but I also like cooking Italian and Chinese, to be honest I will pretty much eat almost anything except brussels sprouts, olives and ox tongue. I haven't tried snails yet so I can't comment on that one!<br />
I love arts and crafts too, particularly drawing anime/manga characters, sewing bags and purses and making jewellery.<br />
<br />
Well, that should be enough background info for now, If you want to know more then please follow my blog for stories, random facts, product reviews and hot new products, recipes, travel info and anything else that takes my fancy!<br />
